Magnetic mount landing gear
A good friend of mine from RC-groups made this landing gear contribution.

Thanks, Leadfeather

Pretty simple and light. The idea is that it is held on the plane with magnets. In the case of a bad landing the gear just comes off intact instead of the usual breaking off or braking the plane.

Sitting on the landing gear. Notice the epp tail skid I added too to keep the rudder off the ground.

A magnet in the foam and one in the center of the gear keep the gear in place. The struts fit into two little plastic tubes set in the wings.

The plastic tubes are the stem of a Q-tip with the cotton swab cut off.

Gear comes off in a nano second for flying out doors. All that is left is the little magnet and the two bits of plastic tube all buried in the foam.

Gear with magnet glued and bound with thread.
